you make my dreams come true (oo-oo ooo-oo)

i just got really into this show called "live from daryl's house" where daryl hall from hall & oats invites artists into his home to perform their songs with him and his band. this clip comes from the episode with patrick from fall out boy, where they perform a song that sounds like the stereo. patrick is super talented, and nails it singing and playing drums for this one.

in other patrick stump news, this is pretty funny.
in even more patrick stump shinfo, his (hopefully old) cellphone number was my go-to pocket dial for years.
dude probably hates me, if he even remembers/cares who i am anymore.
in semi-unrelated shinfo, justin pierre from motion city soundtrack directed that stereo video.
weeeeeeird.

how i spent my summer vacation

here's the rest of the photos i took while out on warped tour. i didn't take my camera out at all while actually at warped tour, it seems, which is a bummer.

this is benson. he's a bro, vegan, loves bikes, tattoos, mustaches, coffee and being awesome.

ate at this rad spot called the foundation or something.

some sort of unreal pasta with peanut sauce deal. too good!

mike ski. this is what you look like at the end of 2 months of doing warped tour in a van, trying to juggle being in a band, working as a tattoo artist, and having your girlfriend out on the road at the same time. this guy probably works harder and cares more than any other dude out there. much respect!

drove past the exit for gilman street in berkeley. wish i could've got off and gone to a show at 924.

went to an oakland a's game instead.

get stoked!

batting helmet full of popcorn!

popped into vinyl collective in denver to surprise my old pal brandon!

finally met virgil! check me out on the visitors to vinyl collective blog!

hahaha loved the sign on the door, and the reflection looked cool.

casa de la dylan!

watercourse in denver!

we meal hard!

À bout de souffle

"Hélas, hélas, hélas ! J'aime une fille qui a une très jolie nuque, de très jolis seins, une très jolie voix, de très jolis poignets, un très joli front, de très jolis genoux... mais qui est lâche!"

3.30.2009

"If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start. This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind. It could mean not eating for three or four days. It could mean freezing on a park bench. It could mean jail. It could mean derision. It could mean mockery--isolation. Isolation is the gift. All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it. And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds. And it will be better than anything else you can imagine. If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is."

i'm a rock, it can't be stopped.

no it's never enough when you live without love.

3.01.2009

without love.

such a great song.

All in nature ends in tragedy
and I was the first to finally fade away from my grandfather's memories.
How long 'til the day my memories of him finally fade away?
Dissolving into gray.

Is breathing just the ticking of an unwinding clock?
counting down the time it takes
for you to comprehend the sheer magnitude of
every single precious breath you've ever wasted?

I did everything I could.
I bargained with the universe to take my life instead of hers.
But no amount of money, drugs or tears could keep her here.
What purpose did her suffering serve?

Is breathing just the ticking of an unwinding clock?
counting down the time it takes
for you to comprehend the sheer magnitude of
every single precious breath you've ever wasted?

So much misery.
So much indifference to so much suffering
we can become tempted by appeals to hatred.
This world ain't nothing more than what we make of it.

Revenge ain't no solution
to the inevitable pain
every single one of us must face in losing
the kindred spirits in our lives.
Lives so brief, so disappointing, so confusing.

As Cronie slipped away I held her in my arms,
reduced to "Please don't leave me. What will I do?"
But this cosmic sadness is just here to remind you
that without Love, breathing is just the ticking of...

i'm a sucker for sentimental emails from mom

Birth Certificate shows that we were born
A Death Certificate shows that we died
Pictures show that we lived!

Have a seat . . . Relax . . . And read this slowly.

I Believe...
That just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other.

And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe...
That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.

I Believe...
That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt
you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe...
That true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance.
Same goes for true love.

I Believe...
That you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.

I Believe...
That it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want to be.

I Believe...
That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe...
That you can keep going long after you think you can't. (AMEN!)

I Believe...
That we are responsible for what
we do, no matter how we feel.

I Believe...
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe...
That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I Believe...
That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe...
That my best friend and I, can do anything, or nothing and have the best time.

I Believe...
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe...
That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe...
That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had
and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe...
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I Believe...
That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe...
That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are,
but, we are responsible for who we become.

I Believe...
That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life Forever.

I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.

I Believe...
That your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you.

I Believe...
That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I Believe...
That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I Believe...
That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

I Believe...
That you should send this to all of the people that you believe in, I just did.

"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything."

DEATH TO FALSE FEEDS

so my love for RSS feeds has come to a halt.
i figured that the massive amounts of feeds and entries i had going was bunging up my mail program, and making my entire computer run super sluggish, so i got rid of them. i'm going to try running feeds in the browser, though!

oh, yeah!
i'm in japan.

more soon.

i'm pretty sure we heard this one before

hello friends,
i am back from LA, and promise an entry with a full play by play and some shitty phone photos, as i'm pretty sure i packed my camera but still have yet to find it. perhaps it's gone forever.

the other day i was going through my iphoto, and started a little album of photos that i really liked, but felt like no one had really seen before. some of them were out-takes persay, and others i just never really had any reason to show anyone. after editing a bunch of those to make them look extra sweet, i found a few other photos that i decided to re-edit with the new iphoto features and ended up liking them better than before. so with all of that, here are a bunch of photos of a few people and places.

click here or on the photo of ryan to view the photos.

back.

so i'm back on tour in america, and have made it to warmer weather in florida. i've really sucked at this blog thing lately, but hopefully i will get my act together and start to update more. i've eaten a lot of great food, and seen some great friends (ie: kyle sloan), and have taken a few photos, so some blogs about that will come soon. i really like the new constantines record that hasn't come out yet, and am excited to see them, the weakerthans, lucero, and paint it black while home for a few weeks next month. right before leaving for this tour, a block of the street i live on burnt to the ground, and even though my apartment is way on the other side of town, i frequented that block of queen west a whole lot. i can't believe i haven't talked about this (and this) yet, but i'll see if i can dig up a post about that soon enough. until then, take care of yourselves and eachother.

stop runnin' yo' mouth, start havin' some fun!

woahhhh, i guess i've really let this go, on account of not having much time with internet connection the past 2 months being in england, europe, home in toronto with no internet at the apartment, and australia.

2008: gonna be great!
new years eve was pretty fun, and so far, 2008 is going so well. we were in australia for the past two weeks, which was amazing. today we flew to nagoya japan, and all of our luggage/gear is still in aus. i basically am stuck with the gym shorts and hoodie i wore on the plane, and it's fucking cold here!

i got a haircut in australia, too.

i'll try to put together a top albums of 2007 post tonight, and hopefully catch up on the last two months over the next two weeks.

things to look forward to:
- no hate in '08.
- flying to nyc to see hot water music in jersey on the 25th.
- stacy smallwood, katiebrown, et al in nyc.
- til the wheels fall off 2xLP w/ hand screened cover.
- canadian tour featuring rob dyer.
- cancer bats/this is hell on day off in toronto.
- a week and a bit off before us tour.
- a month+ off after us tour.
